Cookie Policy

Last updated: 28 October 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how POLICYVAULT.AFRICA ("PolicyVault," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on www.policyvault.africa (the "Service"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your session, keep you signed in, and — if you allow them — measure how the Service is used. We also store some preferences in your browser's localStorage; that is not a cookie, but we describe it here because it works in a similar way.

Cookies we use

Strictly necessary (always on)

These are required for the Service to work. They are not used for analytics or advertising, and they are not controlled by the cookie banner.

  • pv_session — an httpOnly session cookie set by our site after you sign in. It keeps you authenticated without storing an access token in JavaScript. It is Secure and SameSite=Lax. If you block this cookie, you will not be able to stay signed in.

Analytics (optional)

If you choose Accept analytics, we load Google Analytics 4 to understand visits, searches, and feature use. We do not send your email address, name, or the text of Policy AI questions. These cookies are set only after you accept.

  • _ga and _ga_* — Google Analytics identifiers used to distinguish browsers and sessions.

We do not currently use marketing or advertising cookies.

Your choices

When you first visit, a banner asks whether we may use analytics cookies. You can Accept analytics or Reject analytics. Necessary cookies continue either way.

You can change your mind at any time using Cookie settings in the website footer. We store that choice in localStorage on your device (key: cookie-consent) so we do not ask on every page load.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. Blocking all cookies will prevent sign-in from working.
